Hotel Frederiksminde is idyllically and peacefully situated in the heart of nature, just 50 metres from the shores of Præstø Fjord. Its unique location combines tranquillity, open landscapes, and the distinctive atmosphere of South Zealand. The light, the surrounding nature, and the panoramic views across the fjord are an integral part of the guest experience.

The historic building dates back to the late 19th century and has been carefully restored with great respect for its history and architectural heritage. The restoration was carried out with the aim of preserving the property’s original character while creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere where historical authenticity blends seamlessly with modern comfort.

The hotel offers 19 individually designed rooms, each furnished with carefully selected antiques and classic interiors. Accommodation includes 13 double rooms, 3 single rooms, 2 junior suites, and 1 suite.

At the heart of the hotel is the Michelin-starred Restaurant Frederiksminde. The cuisine is firmly rooted in the changing seasons and is based exclusively on ingredients of the highest quality. Fish and shellfish from the surrounding waters, game from the local forests, and vegetables and herbs sourced from regional producers form the foundation of a modern and responsible culinary philosophy. Craftsmanship, precision, and close collaboration with local suppliers define every menu.

Hotel Frederiksminde is managed by Silje Brenna.

Since 1 January 2026, Mulla Yalcin has served as Executive Chef. With extensive expertise, creativity, and deep respect for the restaurant’s culinary heritage, he continues to develop and refine its gastronomic identity. His focus is on regional ingredients, sustainable practices, and exceptional craftsmanship.

In 2026, Hotel Frederiksminde became one of the first restaurants in Northern Europe to be included in the Michelin Guide Mindful Voices. This distinction recognises restaurants that demonstrate a strong commitment to responsible practices, regional identity, and clearly defined values. Together with its Michelin Star, the recognition reflects the hotel’s ambition to create world-class gastronomic experiences in harmony with nature, people, and local culture.

Over the years, Hotel Frederiksminde has also received the highest accolades from Denmark’s leading restaurant critics, including Børsen, Politiken, and Berlingske, and today stands among Denmark’s foremost gastronomic destinations.
