Hotel Frederiksminde is idyllically situated in peaceful, secluded surroundings just 50 metres from the shoreline of Præstø Fjord. Here, nature, light and tranquillity become an integral part of the guest experience, while the historic hotel offers panoramic views across the fjord and the surrounding landscape.
Dating back to the late nineteenth century, the property has been carefully restored with great respect for its architectural heritage. Every renovation has been carried out with the ambition of preserving the building’s original character while recreating the romantic atmosphere that defines Frederiksminde today.
The hotel offers 19 individually designed guest rooms, each elegantly furnished with antiques and timeless Scandinavian interiors. The accommodation comprises 13 double rooms, 3 single rooms, 2 junior suites and 1 suite.
At the heart of Frederiksminde is its Michelin-starred restaurant, where the cuisine is rooted in the exceptional ingredients found in the surrounding landscape. The menu celebrates seafood from nearby waters, seasonal game, vegetables from local growers and produce sourced from a close network of dedicated artisans and farmers. Every dish reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, seasonality and responsible gastronomy.
Hotel Frederiksminde is operated by Silje Brenna.
Since 1 January 2026, Executive Chef Mulla Yalcin has led the kitchen. Building on the restaurant’s established philosophy, he continues to refine and develop Frederiksminde’s culinary identity with precision, creativity and deep respect for the hotel’s heritage, while strengthening its focus on local sourcing and responsible gastronomy.
Hotel Frederiksminde proudly holds one Michelin Star and, in 2026, was selected as one of the first restaurants in the Nordic region to be featured in the Michelin Guide’s Mindful Voices initiative. This recognition highlights restaurants that demonstrate leadership through responsible gastronomy, meaningful local engagement and a thoughtful approach to sustainability. Frederiksminde has also consistently received top ratings from Denmark’s leading food critics, including Børsen, Politiken and Berlingske, and is widely recognised as one of Denmark’s leading gastronomic destinations.
